Free outdoor movie screenings
July is the month for free films in the city! Fort York! Christie Pits! Regent Park! Union Station! You name an outdoor space, there's probably a movie being screened there this month.

Ritmo y Color (July 15-17)
Can't make it to Mexico this year? Get as close as possible to the colourful, vibrant streets of the Central American city with this waterside weekend party. Food, music, art, and a special performance from LuchaT.O. are all on tap. Arrrriba!

Live music on the Roy Thomson Hall patio
There are free shows on the patio at Roy Thomson hall all summer long. July's shows are an especially diverse bunch in terms of genre, and worth checking out for the unique setting and musicianship on display. All shows happen from 5-10 p.m.

Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibit
This is the beast of all outdoor art fairs in Toronto. From July 8 to 10, Nathan Phillips Square is invaded by booths and packed with all kinds of artwork. This fair has been going since 1961 and was the first-ever outdoor event held at the Square. It now boasts over 350 artists. Admission is free but the art will cost ya.

Yoga on the Toronto Island (July 17)
This activity is already super relaxing and can free not only your wallet, but your mind. Now imagine all those benefits, but doing it on the Island! Taking place during the Festival of India, this festival features outdoor yoga classes, mantra meditation sessions, yoga-inspired performances, a free vegetarian feast, arts and cultural shows.

Big on Bloor Festival
Games, vendors galore, arts and crafts, food from across the world, and musical performances take over Bloordale for a full two days. It runs until midnight on Saturday and is the perfect day-date stroll activity.

Figment (July 23)
This is a free "large scale interactive and participatory art event" on Olympic Island. Clear your Instagram schedule for the day as there will be many amazing photo ops as artists of across various media bring their wildest dreams to life. Check out Figment's Instagram to get a taste.

Free Fringe Festival Concerts (July 3-14)
There are 12 shows you can't miss this year at our city's most wonderfully oddball theatre festival. Of course you have to pay for these, but you won't have to pay for the concert series happening behind Honest Ed's! It's called Club Fringe and Hooded Fang opens the series.

Future Routes (July 8-10)
The rhythms of guitars and sitars collide at this world music weekend. Orlando Julius, Os Tropies and a special Chak De Bhangra Dance Competition will all be happening surrounded by delicious foods and vibes. This festival blends old world with new world in a very cool way.

OssFest (July 23)
Ossington finally gets its own street festival! This one has a spin to it. From 12 - 6 p.m. there will be bike races around the area, bringing criterium-style racing back to Toronto. From there you're free to walk the streets, listen to live music and soak up the energy on the street.
