The top 5 free events in Toronto: July 4-10 2016
The top free events in Toronto this week will only slightly let you catch your breath from the wild and crazy long weekend that just past. I'm most excited about the Makers festival extravaganza, but it's joined by some other very cool happenings that will cost you nada.
Here's what to get up to in Toronto this week if you're adventurous but penniless.
Summer Camp Nightmares: Sleepaway Camp & The Burning (July 7)
The Grindhouse Nights Free Movies marathon at Sneaky Dee's continues with this gory double-bill of horror classics. Sing-a-longs, woodland makeouts, swimming, laughter and bloody murder all take place tonight.
Entertainment District art crawl (July 8)
Arrive at 11 a.m. to take full advantage of this downtown art crawl and party. 60 local artists and designers show their goods in David Pecaut Square, food trucks sell things, and there's DJs and more! It happens all day so just pop on by the square to see what's up.
Bike Night (July 8)
We've already told you about the new Harley-Davidson Cafe on Ossington, well another reason to visit other than just-because is that they're having a free bike drop in day with free coffee from Fahrenheit Coffee. It's called 1903 Cafe, jump in and jump on!
Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibit (July 8 -10)
This one made it onto our list of outdoor art fairs for summer 2016. Over 350 artists in Nathan Philips Square, all free for the browsing and idea getting.
Maker Extravaganza 2016 (July 9-10)
The free event this week I'm most excited about. It's the Makers Festival main event, inside one of our city's strangest and most Jetson's futuristic-looking libraries. Over 100 of the city's most creative people and their projects gather at the Reference Library to show off their wares.
Did I miss a free event you're excited about this week? Let our readers know in the comments or post the event yourself and let's get free together!
