The top free events in Toronto are a true sign that summer is about to end. While there are a couple active events to get you out and exploring the city, there are many indoor talks and workshops to expand your mind without draining your wallet. Fall is still pretty amazing, but goodbye summer, we're really gonna miss you.

Here are my picks for free events in Toronto this week.

Toronto Blue Jays Game Changer: Big Data in Pro Baseball with Andrew Miller (September 19)
If you saw Money Ball and loved it, then this event is for you. Get up close and personal with Andrew Miller, EVP, Business Operations for the Blue Jays. He oversees the business side of the Toronto Blue Jays and will be talking about game data and how statistics are collected, tracked and analyzed in new ways today.

Wikipedia Wednesday: LGBTQ Artists (September 21)
The Art Gallery of Ontario is partnering with the Canadian Lesbian Gay Archives to host a Wikipedia editing session focusing on Canadian LGBTQ artists. It's about building Wikipedia content on topics related to lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and queer LGBTQ artists and artist collectives.

Pokemon Go Tournament (September 24)
Hopefully you're not suffering from Pokemon Go fatigue yet because this is the be all end all of gatherings. It's a massive tournament in High Park and there will be tournaments happening on the same day and time around the globe. This is the first and largest Pokemon Go tournament of its kind. Word on the Street (September 25)
I'll be completely honest, this festival was way more fun when it was at Queen's Park. It's since moved to the Harbourfront, but hey, it's still free and is still one of the city's largest festivals for book and magazine-lovers. There are literally hundreds of author events, presentations and workshops on offer.

Bells on Bloor (September 25)
Meet at 11a.m. at Christie Pits park for this massive and noisy bike ride celebrating the new Bloor Street bike lanes. It's the ninth annual ride and run along Bloor, which then heads to Sherbourne, west on Wellesley, and then north on Queen's Park Crescent, before heading back to Christie Pits. There's a party at the end and bells are provided.
