Toronto's Caribbean Carnival is back this summer

Toronto Caribbean Carnival is back this summer, marking its 56th year in the city. The carnival will run from July to August and end with a week-long celebration from August 3-7.

This iconic Caribbean carnival in Toronto is a landmark annual celebration that commemorates the emancipation of slaves in Canada in 1838.

With a dazzling display of sound and colour, the Toronto Caribbean Carnival is a highly-anticipated annual event that proudly showcases Caribbean culture.

The Grand Parade is one of the most popular events of the carnival where vibrant performers take to the streets around Exhibition Place.

Here is a list of the events taking place during the Toronto Caribbean Carnival 2023:

  • Junior King and Queen Showcase: Sunday July 16th at Scarborough Town Centre
  • Junior Carnival Parade: Saturday July 22nd at Malvern Community Centre
  • OCPA Calypso Showcase: Sunday July 20 at Latvian Culture Centre
