Kensington Market has been the beating heart of Toronto for many years. It's a place where you can shop for the latest vintage finds, eat cheap and delicious food from all over the world, and have a drink on a patio. 

Every year Kensington provides us with Pedestrian Sundays so that everyone can take in the amazing neighbourhood car free!

On the last Sunday of each month the streets of Kensington are closed off to all motorized vehicles and opened to those of us who prefer to travel on foot and the streets become something to awe at.

As you walk down the streets there are stands and vendors who line the sidewalks selling jewelry, candles, and handmade goods.

There's also a ton of live music, art and street food from the neighbourhood's myriad of vendors.  

A Pedestrian Sunday was where I tried a fruit cup drenched in Chamoy and Tajin from Fruta Libre inside Tacos 101 and now I get one every time I'm in the area.

If you don't feel like spending money, the simple act of walking through the streets brings a sense of community and joy that you might not feel anywhere else. 

Pedestrian Sundays run from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. with  road closures along Augusta, Baldwin and Kensington Avenues.

The next one is this Sunday July 28. Dates later this summer include August 25, September 29 and October 27
