This Toronto home underwent an almost $2 million renovation
This 1889 Victorian semi-detached house wasn't nearly as impressive when the owners originally bought it in 2016.
Realtor Lirad Kligman, The Yorkville Team at Forest Hill Real Estate, told blogTO that the young family bought it for just over $1 million, and when looking at the old listing photos it was a bit of a mess.
But clearly, they saw potential.
In 2020, Kligman explained that they completely rebuilt 2 Laurier Avenue, located in Cabbagetown, and spent nearly $1.7 million on renovations.
"Every room, including all four bedrooms and four bathrooms, was completely customized with the highest quality marble, millwork and Victorian replicated trim,"Kligman said.
The result is a gorgeous Victorian home with plenty of character.
"It's absolutely stunning and is a perfect family home," added Kligman.
Listed for $2,995,000, the home is bright, airy, the perfect mix of classic and modern style.
The main floor is open concept with beautiful white oak herringbone wood floors, soaring ceilings, and details like coffered ceilings, stained glass windows and wainscotting bringing in the historic elements of the home.
The kitchen is top of the line with Wolf and Sub Zero appliances as well as marble counters.
The living room at the back of the home gets plenty of natural light thanks to the large floor-to-ceiling industrial sliding doors.
The bedrooms are upstairs with three of them being on the second floor, while the primary bedroom occupies the entire third level.
The primary bedroom has a walk-in closet, a stunning ensuite bathroom and a walk-out balcony.
There's more living space in the basement with an extra bedroom that could be used as a home office while the family room comes complete with a wet bar.
The outdoor space might be the only let down of this home as it's basically a driveway, but there is room for seating if you're so inclined.
If you want green space the home is just a few blocks away from Wellesley Park.
But who needs outdoor space when you have a home that looks like this?
