This design magazine-featured Toronto house looks like it belongs in California
Look, Toronto might not have the Malibu coastline, the Santorini cliffs, or the expansive Bondi Beach, but it does have a lake, the bluffs, and Woodbine Beach.
So, what we're saying is we can totally pretend to be a seaside town with beach houses!
And no local home does the beach house look better than 7B Maughan Cres., which has been featured in design magazine Designlines for its beachy aesthetic.
Designed by Parviz Bozorgmanesh and his son James Manesh from the design studio Protopia, this three-bedroom, five-bathroom home draws inspiration from all the great beach towns.
As Manesh told Designlines, they wanted "to invoke the feeling of being on the coast and one with nature - open, light, airy and tranquil."
"We looked at coastal locations like Bondi and Bronte, Australia, and also California for inspiration. I had recently visited Santorini Greece, and immediately fell in love with the white structures there."
As you walk through the large 14-foot mahogany door, you're greeted by an open layout with tons of natural light thanks to the massive windows, and tons of natural wood accents.
On the main floor, you have the living room, dining room, kitchen and family room.
The house is very modern, with lots of sleek, clean lines, especially in the kitchen.
The kitchen features simple white cabinets, integrated LED lighting, and quartz counters. It also has some fancy Miele appliances.
The home has a very minimal palette with modest materials that really evoke that sense of calm.
The spaces feature a harmonious blend of calming whites, warm white oak, and sleek matte black hardware for accentuation.
Upstairs, you'll find the bedrooms.
The primary suite is indulgent, with a panelled wall for texture and a large ensuite.
The ensuite comes with heated herringbone floors, a floating quartz double vanity and a walk-in shower with a rainfall head.
The lower level of the house serves as a rec room and comes with 11-foot ceilings and a walkout to the backyard.
7B Maughan Cres. also comes equipped with smart home features, including a Nest doorbell, thermostat and tablet, and an August smart lock.
The home is listed for $2,780,000.
