MIA Brunch Bar serves brunch seven days a week throughout the day, and boasts not one but two patios in warm weather.

The name Mia represents a spirit of softness, delicacy and hospitality, but can also cheekily be interpreted as MIA or "missing in action"...which you just might be if you're hiding out here having brunch on a weekday.

The minimalist 30-seat space with an eight-seat bar was once home to Kanda Izakaya. The bar was built out and wraparound bench seating was installed along with a picnic-table-like booth.

Chicken Belgian Waffles feel a tad pricey at $17, but the fried buttermilk chicken is super crispy, bacon bits add a little something extra house maple butter is great (I only wish there was more of it). A tiny fruit cup on the side balances out this guilty pleasure.

A French Smoked Salmon Omelette is even more expensive at $19, but it's probably what I'd order when in the mood for something that feels more wholesome than the fried chicken.

Avocado, smoked salmon, asparagus, dill cream cheese and chives are wrapped in a satiny omelette, served with toast and a light salad dressed with house balsamic vinaigrette.

Crunchy French Toast ($16) is crusted with cornflakes and served with fresh berries. For French toast, it could be a bit more moist, though the crunchy cereal coating is great. Like with the maple butter on the waffles, providing more of a smashing house maple cream chantilly and creme anglaise would probably help.

An Apple Bees Knees ($13) is a great option for those who tire of the usual mimosas and Caesars. Gin, apple juice and rosemary infused simple syrup combine for a drink that's light, sweet and fragrant.

If you're looking for more of a caffeine buzz, extra foamy lattes go for $5. I like how the hot drink is presented in a clear cup so you can see just how thick the layer of foam is.

A case of house cakes and pastries as well as additional items like a brunch burger and crab cake benny round out the offerings here.
