Score is a sports bar known for creating towering Caesar monstrosities, the original location on Davie in Vancouver.

It went in the spot that was once Copetin and before that Origin, both projects of celeb chef Claudio Aprile.

The space has been completely transformed from swanky, jagged dining room into a very free-flowing, industrial bar, the main remaining element from the old restaurant a lone central brick wall.

Thousands of bottle caps and magnetic letters provide interactive, dorm-room-esque decor.

Shareables like Sushi Sliders ($12) make up most of the menu, breaded rice "pucks" topped with smoked salmon, dill cream cheese, red onion, avocado and fried capers sitting in sriracha aioli. Food here is salty and layered on the palate, prompting drink guzzling.

Nachos are $20 for a large platter that could feed a bro army, $5 to add saucy pulled pork, taco beef or braised chicken. Topped with cheese, olives, jalapeno, green onion, tomato and beans and served with sour cream and salsa ($3 to add guac), like most everything here the components are standard but the sheer scale is outrageous.

Caesars are pretty standard, aside from defaulting to Jung Walker Mango Fire hot sauce rather than the usual Tabasco.

Tricked-out Caesars start around $13, but prices for standard Caesars can drop as low as $5.50 when they're on special each Sunday.

Apparently Score is Clamato's biggest client. Don't expect artisanal tomato juice or wasabi and horseradish substitutions here.

I'm initiated with the Royale with Chaesar ($14) topped with an entire cheeseburger, onion rings and a pickle. You can’t really go wrong with a pickle with a caesar, and the onion rings are actually pretty good, sweet and crispy.

Needless to say, you have to be down for a meal and a drink in one if you're going for one of these (though that kind of excuses the price).

A Grilled Chaesar ($13) has a deep-fried pickle instead, as well as the onion rings, and two relatively small triangles of grilled cheese.

The Checkmate Caesar ($60) is the stunt item Score has built its reputation around, a four-ounce, 500 mL Caesar topped with an entire roasted and fried cornish game hen, hot wings, onion rings, a burger, a pulled pork mac n' cheese hot dog, a pulled pork slider, a pickle and a brownie.

Score King Toronto

Make this a group effort, and decide which parts of the Caesar each person wants first.

Score King Toronto

Trying to have a little of everything just becomes a confusion of bar food.

Score King Toronto

I'm kind of tempted to order the pulled pork mac n' cheese on its own; that and a fudgy, under-baked brownie are the best parts.

Score King Toronto

There's a patio and weekday brunch, with a more full brunch menu on weekends.
