4 reasons why this fry cafe experience coming to Toronto is a must-visit spot for fall
French fry fanatics, get ready! McCain is bringing a café experience to Toronto this fall, and you’re not going to want to miss it.
Located at 119 Strachan Avenue, the McCain Happy Frydays Café will run from now until Sunday, Nov. 24, serving up dishes where fries aren’t just a side — they’re the main event.
Because, who doesn't love fries, right?! According to a survey by McCain, 99.2 per cent of people agree that French fries are, indeed, irresistible.
A percentage of proceeds from the McCain Happy Frydays Cafe is also being donated to an incredible cause, so it's nothing but feel good vibes all around!
Here's a closer look at what to expect.
Guests will get to dive into a menu of McCain classics, all of which have been reimagined for maximum craveability and shareability.
Must-tries include the Tasti Tachos - McCain Tasti Taters loaded up like nachos with guacamole, lime crema, salsa, veggies, and your choice of protein - and the Smile Stackers, a playful reimagining of the classic slider featuring McCain Smiles with mini beef or vegetarian burgers and classic toppings, all served alongside McCain Spirals.
Like to get a little adventurous with your eats? Try the ultra-Instagrammable Unicorn Fries — McCain Superfries Extra Crispy smothered in a rainbow of savoury sauces and topped with colourful cotton candy!
You can also further customize your dish at the condiment station before kicking back in the lively communal dining area to savour your masterpiece.
Every Friday - or we should say Fryday — the café will unveil a new, wildly creative menu item.
When Taylor Swift's Eras Tour is in town, the cafe will serve up not one but two Swiftie specials — aptly titled the Look What You Made Me Fondue and the This Is Me Frying.
Alongside the fantastic food, the Happy Frydays Café is all about bringing people together, so you can expect a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere.
Once you arrive, you'll be met with some awesome decor — including 25 ft French fries adorning the café's exterior! Meanwhile, the café pick-up window doubles as a colourful photo-op where foodies can take the perfect picture of their delicious dish.
Profits from food and merchandise at McCain’s Happy Frydays Café will be donated to Ronald McDonald House Charities® Canada.
Funds will go towards the charity's work to keep families with sick children together and close to the medical care they need. So, you can enjoy delicious food and feel good knowing your meal contributes to a truly meaningful cause.
