Moi Rewards

Join my POV as I shop and reap the benefits of Ontario's new Moi Rewards program

We all love rewards, right? Lucky for Ontario shoppers, a brand-new grocery store rewards program has arrived, with even more points to collect.

Moi Rewards, now available at Metro and Food Basics, is a personalized loyalty program that allows you to earn and redeem points with every shopping trip. Rack up points instantly on special in-store details, exclusive contests, flyer specials and more.

Wondering just how many points you can rack in? Come with me as I dive deep into the world of Moi Rewards.

Getting started

Before I even hit the store, I started my Moi Rewards journey by creating an account. With just a few quick details, I was ready to start collecting and shopping.

The Food Basics and Metro apps allowed me to search for special offers and deals and showed me which items were available for Moi points. With a special 250-point reward for just making an account, I was already stacking my bread!

A quick glance at the rewards available for my account shows that I can score almost $21 in savings with more than 30 coupons to redeem. Sweet.

Racks on snacks

With Moi Rewards, you can choose to shop at either Food Basics or Metro. For this trip to head out to my local Metro, I was scoring special offers and snapping up my favourite snacks! With the fall weather finally here, I grabbed two cans of my go-to soup, Campbell's Chicken Chunky which had a special offer of two cans for just $7 plus 40 Moi Rewards Points!

I also scored an amazing deal on some tasty Allen's Peach Cocktail juice, which was marked with incredible savings of three bottles for $5 with 50 Moi Rewards Points! Snagging a box of Selection brand toasted wheat crackers ($2.99) gave me another 30 Moi Rewards Points — in just 30 seconds I was well on my way to hitting 100 points.

Other favourite snacks I grabbed included Pringles Sour Cream (25 Moi Rewards Points), Golden Oreos (45 Moi Rewards Points), and some delicious Bonne Maman jam on sale for $6.99 plus another 40 Moi Rewards Points!

Meal deals

I also used this shopping trip to pick up some items for dinner, which led me to some high-quality Di Martino spaghetti! Marked on sale for $4.29 plus 30 Moi Rewards Points, my pasta dinner was not only delicious but also rewarding.

Grabbing a tub of Philadelphia Cream Cheese for my bagel breakfast, I scored another 30 points. Next, scoring points on fresh produce was also easy, spending $5 or more on fruits or veggies gave me an extra 80 points plus another 45 points for a fresh loaf of sliced bread.

Moi Points Queen — with nearly $20 in savings

With just a few more aisles to check out and a few essential items in my basket, including an incredible sale on Cashmere Bathroom Tissues, on sale for $5.99 (that's $6 off!), I easily hit the 500-point marker, which is worth $4.

For this trip, I saved a grand total of $19.65 and raked in a total of 327 Moi Rewards Points!

Not only did I score deals on grocery items I was already going to buy, but I also loved the feeling of counting and totalling up my points! From now on, you can call me the Moi Rewards Queen!
