Sunday Funday!

Ok, for those of you craving more than just the typical touristy options I mentioned in my previous post, The Toronto Tourist. The answer is FUNDAY!

A few years ago, my boy and I decided to make Sunday, a Funday! We grabbed a TTC Daypass and headed out with no real direction in mind.

Think of a subway stop you've never been to and go explore a neighborhood. Queen/Leslie, Bloor/Jane, Yonge/Davisville - why not? You'll stumble across a delicious bakery, hilarious sports bar or interesting book store. I guarantee there is something to see.

Try out a cultural neighborhood. There's more than just Chinatown. Little India (Gerrard east of Greenwood) has loads of yummy buffet restaurants. Perfect for trying something new. Greek on the Danforth, Little Italy (College west of Bathurst), Little Portugal (Dundas west of Ossington), Polish on Roncevalles (North of Queen), Koreatown (Bloor west of Bathurst). Endless possibilities!

Take a trip through the underbelly. Spacing Magazine has issued a handy map for exploring the cities laneways. Travel from Dupont/Christie to Dufferin/Queen without leaving the alley.

Take a ride on the monorail at the end of the Kennedy station. Or get lost in the Humber Loop on the Queen Street Car. There is so much to see, so many places to discover and it's all just outside your door.
