Keep a New Year's Promise: Skate More Often

Climate change may have taken away our tobogganing, skiing, and pond hockey, but it can't take away our outdoor artificial skating rinks! (Well, not yet anyway...) This Friday, January 12, there will be a good chance to take advantage of what's left of winter fun by going for a skate at the Harbourfront Centre. Not only do you get to skate on Canada's largest outdoor artificial ice rink, but you get to practice your strides in sync with music provided by Promise, the good people behind great events like the summer Cherry Beach parties. Performing for your gliding pleasure will be Violet, Benjamin Boles, and Johnny White. This is the second of four DJ Skating Nights, and it runs from 8 - 11 pm. There'll be free hot chocolate, too, just in case winter decides to make a sudden comeback.
