Hop on board the Central Ontario Railway this weekend in Toronto. It's easy to now that the Model Railroad Club of Toronto is back in action.

The club, which dates back to the late 1930s, moved out of its Liberty Village home in 2013 when Lifetime Developments transformed its basement space at 171 East Liberty St. (a former munitions factory) into the Liberty Market Building, a mixed-use condo and retail facility.

Now, the club has a brand new home in East York. "We found new space at 11 Curity Avenue, moved what we could salvage and have been rebuilding our vast model railroad ever since," says longtime president Dave MacLean.

Club members have been painstakingly rebuilding the O-scale model of the Central Ontario Railway; it's about 1/48 full size. And even though it's still under construction, the club is hosting its first public show this weekend.

Anyone can visit to celebrate the club's grand re-opening; you'll also get to learn a little more about our city's history in the process.
