The Toronto Maple Leafs are set to host the Florida Panthers on Tuesday night after breaking their first-round curse, but anyone wishing to witness the start of the contentious playoff series in person will have to shell out their entire savings account (plus some). 

Games 1 and 2 of the second-round playoff series are both scheduled to take place at Scotiabank Arena, and loyal Leafs fans are struggling to grapple with the sky-high ticket prices for the big game. 

At the time of writing, the least expensive tickets for Game 1 are located in section 317 for $371 each, however, the deal comes with an obstructed view of the hockey rink. 

Currently, the lowest-priced tickets for unobstructed views of the rink in the 300-level are priced at a whopping $391.63 each, or $783.26 for a pair. 

The majority of 300-section tickets range from $400 per person to a staggering $1,300 each. Most 100-level tickets at this game range from $700 to $1,600, although there are several seats priced above the $2,000 mark.

Many fans are blaming the astounding resale prices on the Panthers' decision to crack down on Canadian hockey fans by limiting ticket sales to credit cards with U.S. billing addresses. 

The Panthers will host Games 3, 4, and potentially Game 6 at FLA Live in Sunrise, Florida.

As the playoff series escalates, it appears so do ticket prices, because seats for Game 2 at Scotiabank Arena on Thursday are much more expensive. 

The cheapest tickets you can find at the time of writing are in section 320 for an astonishing $430 per seat. The majority of tickets in the 300 section are reselling for $500 to $1,200, with some centre section seats selling for over $2,000.

The most expensive seats you can currently find for Game 2 are positioned right behind the net where the Leafs shoot twice, for a mind-boggling $6,000 each.

Fans who are desperate to be part of the game day action have also sold out mobile passes for the tailgate event in Maple Leaf Square on Tuesday night. Although tickets for the fan-favourite viewing party are free, some scalpers have started to resell the passes for profit.
