Toronto's free outdoor skating rinks are about to open for the season
Toronto's outdoor skating rinks are about to make their winter debut.
While it may not feel like winter, starting this weekend on Saturday, Nov. 23, the City states it will be opening select skating rinks in Toronto. City organizers say a majority of the outdoor ice rinks will stay open until mid-March, although it will be in cold weather dependent.
Once the rinks are open, you can drop in anytime between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m., seven days a week. Just remember to double-check your local rink's status before heading out—this is Toronto, after all, and Mother Nature loves to keep us guessing when it comes to weather.
For those like me without a pair of skates hiding in the closet, Nathan Philips Square is one rink that rents out skates during the entire winter season.
