Good news for Torontonians looking for the best deals on groceries. Three Toronto developers have created an app for the budget conscious shopper that allows users to find and compare sales among Toronto area grocery stores. GroceryGo currently scrapes the websites of Metro, Loblaws, Food Basics, No Frills, and Sobeys and compiles all the ongoing sales in a regularly updated database.

The app allows users to search by specific items. I searched for "cereal" and found a huge array of Kellogg's and Quaker products. "Milk" yielded a number of sales on skim, 2%, and condensed milk at a nearby Loblaws.

Perhaps the best function is the shopping cart which allows users to build and price a list of items. Users are also able to limit searches to only specific stores or to nearby grocery stores. Someone tell the flyers piling up in the lobby of my building they just became even more irrelevant.
