The Cheers of gay Toronto, this Church Street staple never has cover and is the most reliable and consistent gay bar in the city. They've got some of the best drag (you have to work very hard to become a "Woody's Girl"), and chest and ass contests. It's a place to meet friends for cheap pitchers or make new ones (just like Cheers).

There are drag shows every single night of the week and a dance floor in the attic, which is partly why and Crews is the unofficial holder of the crown for best lesbian bar in The Village. This is a bar where any night of the week you can go and get messy without judgement, mostly because everyone else is getting messier. Saturday night is the big night of the week here, often with lineups down the street, so get up in there early.

This is not just one of Toronto's finest theatres, but every Saturday night Buddies is also the place to dance hard and either enjoy being drunk and 20 years old (or just to act that way). Iconic bartender Patricia and her team hold the place down, while most of the time you'll find Regina DJing upstairs. There are pop hits, a drag show and a great dance scene every time.

What used to be a staunch, men's only leather bar, has completely transformed in the past two years thanks to owner Carlos Fileti and programmer Michael Barry. With the exception of the sex-room upstairs, everyone is welcome on the revamped dance floor and rooftop patio. They bring in some mighty DJs every month, and there are loads of hot guys and regular theme nights.

Beware, Rico is a hotbed for bachelor and bachelorette parties galore, but it's thanks to the amazing drag shows (check out the city's finest Latina kweens here), Latin dancing, and consistent weekend party vibe that this place is so alluring! It's worth climbing down the stairs to this ultra-gay-friendly bar and dance club.

A village anchor, Pegasus is like your gay uncle's fun time getaway lounge in the basement. Except this one's on the second floor. It's a favourite for gay sport group post-game meet-ups, complete with games and a really friendly gay uncle vibe.
