Ontario Holiday Inn called 'lavish' and 'swanky retreat' and the internet is losing it
The internet is having a laugh after a Holiday Inn in Sudbury was described as a "lavish retreat" and "swanky" destination.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau joined the Liberal Party's Ontario caucus in Sudbury this week, with the politicians staying in some relatively spartan accommodations as far as Ontario hotels go.
However, an email titled "Trudeau's lavish retreat" sent out by the federal Conservative Party is slamming the Liberals for their choice of hotel — something that people on both sides of the internet's political aisles find totally hilarious.

An article published by Sudbury.com covering the blowback over this hotel selection has gone viral, with many commenters on social media — seeing only the headline without further context — struggling to determine if it was, in fact, a parody.
Had to double check that this wasn't a Beaverton article.🤣

Even satirical news site The Beaverton joked that it looked like one of their fictional headlines.
I know we’ve been saying this a lot lately… but did we write this headline and forgot? https://t.co/VzeBubXCkC

"Today, Justin Trudeau took a surprise trip up to Sudbury to appease his Liberal MPs from Ontario at their swanky retreat before the summer ends," reads the Wednesday email from federal Conservative media relations manager Sebastian Skamski.

One user joked about how Holiday Inn's PR department is the real winner in this debate on what constitutes luxury.

So, next time you are visiting Sudbury, make sure to stay in the Holiday Inn so you can tell all your friends about how lavish and swanky it is.
